We haven't blogged in a while, but today it feels like spring down here in Texas. It made me want to blog these beautiful images of Griffin from her bridal portraits last summer. Did you guys know that "bridal portraits" are a southern thing? Sometimes we talk to photographer friends or potential wedding couples in Missouri or Washington or New York and they're like "What are bridal portraits?" lol. The south.But seriously, if these photos don't make you ladies want to put on a wedding dress and red lipstick...then bless your heart.
nicole & dave get married OR you are in this seat for a reason
Have you ever given yourself permission to think about what your wedding would be like if you didn't "have" to do anything?Nicole and Dave gave themselves this permission. Their hearts weren't in the big ceremony with all the friends of their parents and extended cousins they hadn't seen in years. They wanted small. They wanted meaningful. They wanted all the people they love most in the world, at the place they love most in the world. They had their first look in their living room. They said their promises to one another in their backyard. They started their life together, in their home.Sounds like a dream doesn't it? It certainly was. This goes down as one of our favorite weddings ever. It is our privilege to give you our viewpoint of a ceremony that only the most special of witnesses were invited to.

The people who come into our lives are never an accident. We go way back with Spencer and met Bethany when we shot Spencer's sister's wedding almost two years ago now. Oh did I mention we also grew up in the same small West Texas town? I will forever believe that our tiny little town produces some of the best people in the world. There are many of them in the following photos.
When we go into someone's wedding day, it is our deep desire that we can be there as friends. We get to know the couples that we're photographing, so that when it comes time for the important moments, they trust that we've got it. When we ask them to enter into a few moments where they forget all the guests at their wedding and remember that vow that was so easy to say, that promise that is going to be so difficult to keep, that incredibly beautiful life waiting for them on the other side of this fantastic party of a day, they trust us. Because we've shared who we are with them, and they've shared who they are with us. For us, brides and grooms are more than clients. They're friends.
Every now and then we get to make images of people who we have had the privilege of knowing for a long while. Please enjoy this peek into an emotion filled lovely day, from lunch champagne to pedicab exit. We're happy to share it with you.
adam & nicole OR the best day ever part 2
The second part of this wedding is so fun!We would not blame you if you want to put on some music and dance with them at the end.We don’t have to say much about Adam and Nicole. Everything you need to know you’ll see in these images. Their wedding was deep and meaningful, and also incredibly fun. We didn’t stop dancing the entire reception.Adam is a great friend of Kyle’s, and Nicole is one of the most genuine and funny girls you could ever meet. They compliment each other so well, like flowers and the spring. And the way Adam looks at Nicole when she smiles… well as Adam said himself, “I’d be crazy not to marry this girl.”At a wedding this fun, it’s really tough for us to choose just a few photos to show you guys. So, we divided this up into two blog posts. The first will be the getting ready and first look, followed by a sneak peek of what you’ll be seeing tomorrow.
